I have not rec'd my RE lift yet, but I noticed today that the upper front shock mounts on my 87 YJ are pointed up... The shocks in the picture of what I ordered (RE 4") have horozontal holes, like every shock I have ever seen..?

Im kinda confused as to whether I should find an adapter for the front shocks...
I saw something like it a quadratec p/n : 16030.102
"JKS Shock Stud Conversion Kit"

thanks

RE: Forum rules and guidelines

I'd contact RE to confirm, but I've never seen a YJ kit come with anything except front shocks with a post upper mount.

The conversion kit generally allows a wider range of shock options, as the eyelet is the most common mount. It does slightly decrease the working length of the shock, so I'd avoid it if you can.

Re: RE: Re: RE: Adventures in the Gadget Cave

I wouldn't worry about what you saw in the pic. You'll most likely receive the proper shocks.

They probably used one set of shocks for all the lift kits.

The shock adapter also allows for the shock to move in a "more natural manner" and is less stress on teh bushings, but not needed.

RE: Re: RE: THrottle body spacers?

If you need shock adapters, Just make them out of 1.5" square tubing. that's what we did, and they work great
