YJ fuel problem

Jeep starts, but shuts off after a min or after I tap on the gas.

2.4l. Haven't really checked anything yet. Don't know where to start.

its not a 2.5? i would check our fuel pressure

pull the cover off the throttle body and watch it as its dieing to see if its running out of fuel or not

I will try that. The hoses to the furl filter look like they are dry rotted. Could that be the problem.

Your fuel filter may be clogged. Replace it and see what happens.

I agree with checking the fuel pressure as it could be the fuel pump. No harm done with changing the fuel filter but filters tend to make a motor sputter under load but don’t tend to make the motor die unless totally clogged and I think would have been noticeable prior to getting that bad.

Replaced filter and hoses still will not stay running and now it won't start.

I checked the fuel pressure (32 PSI) it runs for just over a minute and then dies. When I try to start it back up it wont fire. My friend and I are thinking it is the ignition coil.

I think the stayed up but, the tester i used from autozone had a leak.

Test the ignition coil before you go out and buy a new one. In less you really want a new one.

By not starting I mean no spark. Fuel pressure checked out at 32psi.
