I put in a 258 in my 83 CJ7 about a month ago. It runs great with only 59,000 origional miles on it. Yesterday I took it to the paint shop, so I drive it around the backyard for a while to charge up the battery beforehand. I drop it off and when I go to turn the key off it won't shut off, keys are in hand. The only thing I could think of would be the coil having heat failure. I really don't know, I've run out of ideas. I'm going to replace the coil when it gets out of the paint booth, but until then if anyone has had this problem or knows a solution...PLEASE let me know, thanks.MH83CJ7258@aol.com[addsig]

Nah, don't think so, it does fine with cold starts, shuts off like it's new. But when it gets warmed up and you try to shut it off it won't do it.[addsig]

This crap is aggravating I have to pull the vacuum line off the carb to kill it, any comments I would be thankful for any tips[addsig]

you could put a kill switch on the pos wire of the coil. untill you find the real problem.[addsig]
