Gas tank fix

There are many products for repairing plastic tanks that can be found at most autoparts stores.

It's That Time of Year Again (Part Deux)

Depending on the size of the hole, rub a bar of handsoap over it.....it's always worked for me in the past!

An old-time and temporary metal gas tank fix was to put a rubber faucet washer onto a self-tapping, pan-head sheet metal screw. Then, run the screw w/washer into the hole in the gas tank.

I stressed the word "temporary" above, because after a couple of weeks, a common rubber faucet washer would succumb to the effects of gasoline.

(Amazing how quickly a dripping gas tank will create a hole in a black-topped driveway.)

As a more permanent fix on a plastic tank, Snitty nailed it.

RE: Thinking of Buying another 4x4

I have a plastic 20 gallon 92 YJ Gas tank - its fine. No Leaks.
I bought a rolling chassis for my resto. and it came with the tank. I need to get rid of it, I was going to cut it up...

If you want it -- you pay to get it packaged and shipped to your home and its yours.

I live 40 miles North of Boston.
