Tire size?

What is the max tire size I can put on a yj with out a lift? I'm looking at buying a set of 31's and want to make sure they'll fit.
If I have remove the flares or trim alittle, I will

I run 31 inch tires on my yj jeep, and they don't rub at all

i and my wife ran 31s with no problems on ours. i think mine are actually 31.5 now that i down sized
