Clutch opinions

I just recently bought a 00 TJ 4.0 5 speed. My question is when releasing the clutch to take off my clutch pedal comes way up before catching and I'm just wondering where everybody else's catches at? My 95 does the exact same thing and so does my buddy's 97. I have never had an issue with slipping in the 95 and it's been that way for the 3 years ive owned it and the TJ doesn't slip either. All of them shift fine with no grinding either. Just curious as to how everyone else's does. When I say way up I mean somewhere around a couple inches from the top. Thanks

thats good, requires less travel to shift gears.

all my jeeps are automatics so i cannot help on the measurement

I have an NV3550 in my YJ and it catches quickly, about 1/3 of the way into my release.

My brother has an older 93 XJ that catches as soon as you start to release it.
