1. Cylinder Head Hole Size

Trying to resurrect my 86 cj7. Bought a rebuilt cylinder head, already returned my original. Tried to bolt it on and the cylinder head bolt holes are too small. Block has 1/2 inch bolts. Cylinder head has holes for 7/16. Can someone tell me, what size the hole was from the factory? Going to have the cylinder head drilled.

    Cylinder Head Hole Size

What engine and casting numbers on the head?
Just being sure there are no discrepancies between parts to begin with

    Re: Cylinder Head Hole Size

Thanks for the reply. It is a AMC 258. Cylinder head casting is 8933000. The only number I could find on block is 6045037. Looks like it was stamped on, so probably not a casting number.

The casting number you want for head ID is above the centre two exhaust ports, outside the valve cover rail. It should be four digits
