87 YJ REAR????

Do all YJ Jeeps 87 inperticular come with the dana 35 rear in the back and the dana 30 in the front from the factory???

Maybe all the older ones, Joopin, but not the newer ones. Mine came with the 44 rear (at my request). I don't know when they started adding that option.

He asked about the YJs specifically though? I know some TJs came with a "dana 44"... I'm pretty sure none of the YJs, unless you know something I don't.

I've never seen a stock YJ with anything other than the 30/35 combo.

It's my understanding that some Canadian YJ's came with the D44, and I don't know if any make it across the border.

The TJ fake D44 is just a D35 with a D44 center section :roll:

I don't know the comparisons on the shafts, but i know the axle tube thickness is the same as the thin D35 tubes.

Just to add to the confusion, Dana 35s between 87 and 89 were non-c-clip axles where 90 and up are the c-clip D35. The non-c-clips have a tapered axle shaft and 10" drums, as opposed to the 9" drums that 90+ YJ D35's have.
