I have a 4.2 its going to cost me 475 dollrrs to rebuild that's just the kit,not incldind head job or engine bore . What would be the best thing or way to go. Its going in a 87 wrangler

Are you asking if its worth rebuilding? I'm always down to rebuild my own just for the joy of it but the costs add up quick and you may be able to find one to drop in I believe Quadratec has one.

Yea I can rebuild it but for what im going to put into it I should just get a long block

can you get a cheap decent motor to drop in while you rebuild yours? the 4.2 and 4.0 show up here all the time for 300ish bucks

.but im Tring to find one for that price so I can build the block that was in it

If you decide on a rebuild and can afford it, I would recommend a stroker kit to improve HP and torque. It will not assist in the mpg area but will greatly assist the off road portion of jeeping.
