What would be a fair price?

Well, I'm looking to adding another Jeep to the stable of my Rubi and WJ. Here's what I'm looking at.
1999 XJ 4x4
Bone stock
4.0 w/ auto
p/w, p/dl, tilt, cruise, most of the not needed goodies
with 200,000+ miles.

I know the guy that has it for sale, and how well he keeps care of it. It's never been wheeled, and, believe it or not, NOT marking it's territory. Most of the miles are highway (due to his job). The body is in really good shape. Kelly blue book says right at 5,000 in excellent condition to 3,500 in fair to good. He hasn't given me an actual "for sale price" yet, and I just wanted to be a little ahead of the game. I was thinking of using it as a project, but if it is in as good of shape as I think it is, I might give it to the wife to drive. THen I can use her WJ as a project.

No idea as far as price for it, but wj's make a nice project vehicles, are awsome for off road with the right eq. But hey guess they are a Jeep by name and nature.

yeah i agree the miles is the only thing that makes mea leary .. my wifes uncle had an XJ thats 4.0 had over 300K on the clock and still runs but the transmission didnt last ... but i'd stick to the 3K mark see what he's looking for and go from there

Did the book value reflect the mileage deduction?

I don't like KBB. I usually go with NADA, it's what the dealers use.

If it has been very well maintained (not just vacuumed and shined) then those miles wouldn't scare me. My YJ has over 180K but you'd never know it. No leaks, no smoke, and plenty O' power.
