Torqued steering wheel

I ran over a rental car with my jeep and now my steering wheel is almost 180 degrees out of whack. Im assuming I managed to jump gears in the steering box but I could be wrong. If this is the case will I have to replace the box or is there a way to realign it. If this isn't the issue, does anyone have a suggestion to what is causing this? Thanks in advance. Duncan

Welcome to the Z.

You can't jump gears inside the steering box. It's likely the steering linkage is bent causing the steering wheel to be off-center. You should have it professionally aligned and any bent parts replaced.

X2 on what Bounty said... My guess is a bent tie rod, but check everything to be sure it's safe.

x3, the steering box uses a sector shaft, it is physically impossible for you to jump a gear inside the steering gear case.

and stop running over other cars
