gauges won't work when head lights are on.

Has anyone seen this before? Gauges and dash lights work fine untill you turn the lights on. The dash tottaly shuts down and all gauges zero out. I figure it's a short. Not sure where to start. :?

I would start at the switch where the headlights are and chase the leads down to the relays...

I'm sure it's something stupid. I used to get it to work by hitting the center of the dash. Never saw this before.

I had a Blazer that did that years ago... turned out to be a bad ground.
