say whats the differnce between 4 wheel drive and all wheel drive? just differnt gear ratios? or a whole differnt system? always made me wonder

4 wheel drive is part time, and should not be used on high traction surfaces due to a possible difference in front/rear speed on turns, and even some straightaways... all wheel drive has a center differential or clutch mechanism which can alleviate the difference in speeds... so it can be used all time
