Good one, I should replace the old cap while I'm at it. I just started pulling the old motor out this morning. Pre adding coolant to the head would reduce the amount that would be needed during break in. Thanks, Greg

Time to upgrade my 4.0 with the fresh rebuild I just got through with. One question at the back of my mind is charging the cooling system somewhat before initial startup and cam break in. Do I just fill the radiator and overfill the reservoir the night before, and just let the thermostat open...

Cleaned the IAC. When those go out, the jeep won't idle and dies. Happened on a wrangler I own. Or it will idle low rpms.

Just got through pulling off the throttle body and giving it a good cleaning inside and out. Also cleaned the position sensor and the idle stepper motor. No change in idle speed still at 1,050:???: any ideas?

What is the correct idle speed for the 4.0 Cherokee xj. Mine idles at 1050 rpm hot, with Manual transmission.

Can't believe nobody chimed in on this and nobody has done this one:?| I haven't heard of too many of these early rear ends blowing up on the trail. Found plenty of information on another site. Thanks anyways,Greg.
