First, thanx for the the replies. The cherokee the wheels are from are from the XJ series. I remember the Grand Wagoneers, the last of a breed they were! JB

White woody, it would appear to me you simply have a leaking exhaust manifold gasket on one bank of the engine. The sound it makes is distinctive: a "tinking" sound during acceleration. JB

My rating: excellent due to sentimental value. This car reminds me of my first 4wd:a 1968 IH Scout with no floors, chopped dash, and a sagging spring in the back. BUT it had a not-so-common 266 v-8 that ran like hell as well as functioning 4wd! However, that was 20 years ago--- the memories.....

I have an opportunity to buy a set of `84-85 vintage mag wheels from a cherokee, cheap. Question is , will these bolt directly to a `95 Wrangler? (They are both 15"). Thanks .
