ah didn't realize that it was actually blowin smoke. I have a temp gauge in mine its a 90. the temp switch is located on the back of the head thats what i used to bleed my system as well.
I went through the exact same issues and steps as you. Your real problem is probably the 10 dollar temperature switch that the gauge reads on thats located at the back of the block on top.
Once I replaced this I realized I actually never overheated one time because I was testing my rig one...
I'm not sure if its the same on your jeep as mine is a 90 and has different sensors. But I think your jeep has a temperature sensor. I would look at that. I replaced everything like you did and it came down to a damn $10 part. If it is that your fan might be turning on at the right time and off.
Oh thats a great idea. Thanks for the suggestion. Now will the wires for both lights be on one side of the jeep or will I need to go to each side to pickup the right and left taillight wires?
I did some searching and they don't make a plug and play for the 1990 jeep, as usual. I found a universal 4 pin wiring harness online. I guess Ill go to fleet farm and look at them to see if they come with instructions on what to splice into. Does anyone have a diagram if they don't?
The wiring seems a lot easier then I thought. Does that apply to an older cherokee as well?
When you wired into the one brake wiring that controled your blinkers to?
I have a 1990 jeep cherokee that I need to install a hitch on. I was wondering if someone could point or explain how to do this.
I went to fleet farm and found a class 3 hitch for 120 bucks and according to the book it doesnt require any drilling. Does this mean there are holes there I can...
2 other things you can try as this happened to me.
Push the brake pedal down as hard as you can and try and turn the key.
If that doesn't work try putting it in neutral and turning the key.
My bro has an '88 xj with tow hooks, he used them quite a bit last winter to pull people out of the snow I now have the jeep and didn't notice any problems with the front rails bent. I would think that maybe if you hook up both tow hooks to the same chain you might run into a problem bending...
How hard is the front axle upgrade just a matter of getting the right brackets in the right spots?
I was going to upgrade my d30 with better axleshafts and such but a buddy of mine just found a d44 for $400 bucks so that might be the better option? Anyone done this or knows about it that could...
So I found a write up here for creating the coil spring spacers
XJ Coil Spacer Lift
The spring connects to the bump stop. When i take the spring off does the thing the spring connects to at the top also fall out? How is this held in?\
I have circled the part I am talking about in the...
