if the cherokee was a 6cyl 5 speed it should have 307 gears in it
is your jeep spring over if not you will have to cut off the perches and reweld new ons on .
the 8.25 should have a bigger axle but the lowest gear you can go is a 4.56 gear in the 8.25.

so on the way to work this morning my front driveshaft decided it didn't want to be a part of my jeep anymore.
needless to say i need a front drive shaft for an 88 yj with a 6 cyl 5 speed (french turd).

there will either be a puegoe (which the case splits in half down the middle)
or the other is a ax-something (which splits in sections around the body of the transmission)
you know even thought i will ship this as a bolt in unit you will have to take the cable out of thwe housing to get the cable throught the firewall or cut a really big hole in the firewall to get the push knob through.

you can do any combo mensioned above you could also do a shackle lift (which i personally wouldn't recommend) I have a 2" body lift and 4.5" re suspension lift i personally wouldn't go more then 2" body lift
