    Hard Top

I have a hard top that I had on my '87 wrangler and on my '79 CJ7 prior to that. It was made for a CJ though due to the lift gate overhang, but it fits the wranglers nicely. It has tinted windows and a dome light w/o the cover. There aren't any cracks just a little rough at the bottom edge. I...

stupid emission laws (HEY VEHICLE INSPECTORS LOOK HERE)

I have the same problem since i too live in south central PA. I figure if i have to I can get the whole set-up from the junk yard and just "stick" it in there with not really having it hooked up. The average mechanic wouldnt have a clue as long as everything looks in order. Besides, mines an...

    Problems, problems and more problems

Your ventilation problem is most likely the PCV valve and/or the hose leading from it. If this is clogged it could cause the pressure to build up enough to damage the oil pan and valve cover gaskets. Take it out and see if it rattles. If it doesn't is shot, get a new one and clean the PCV hose...

    Different CJ5 Problems

Is the master cylinder leaking around the lid? If so, i hear the fix is just to put an extra gasket on the lid to make it extra thick down there. It should take a little umph to get it fixed down but it should fix it. I had the same problem with the '79 CJ7 that I had. It was leaking around the...

    greasing wheel bearings

weekend wheeling photo's The squeaking could be the tab on you brake pads that is there to warn u when the pads are low. If it is the pads, you can bend the tabs back for a temporary fix and you should replace them asap. I believe the '87-'95 wranglers have sealed hub assemblies but im not sure...

    Air lines

Im soon to be installing on board air off of an engine driven compressor and I was wondering what line i should use from the compressor to the tank. I was thinking to use just regular air hose like we use in the shop. This should do fine shouldn't it? Thanks. od

    Master Cylinder Gone////?

I hear ya. Same thing happened to my '79 CJ7. The brakes lines and prop. valve had definitely seen their better days. Driving w/o the brakes is ultimately an acquired skill. od

    Master Cylinder Gone////?

Where is that air restrictor A master cylinder swap is fairly easy. Id say a half day job at the most. A master cylinder for ur year should run about 55-60 bucks. As long as u have somebody to help u bleed the brakes it shouldnt take long. od

    idle problems

My buddy has a '99 cherokee with the 4.0 and the aux engine fan wont shut off. It stayed on for like 20 min after shut down before we intervened. I unhooked the fan to shut it off. Could this be a thermostat sensor or something? Also it is having a hard time idling. Think maybe a fuel problem...

Slave cylinder A couple of years ago, me and my brother were out mudding on an old logging road in south central PA and we got stopped by the DCNR. He fined us of course and I asked him if pa has any designated areas for offroading and he said that only mountain roads that we can travel on are...
