Just got jeep on Monday and just starting to learn about it. I took it on as a weekend "kick around." Seems to leave a puddle of oil. First place to look? oh, I am new to this so be gentle with the tech. talk

First off congrats on your "new" Jeep! Which engine does it have? The 258 6Cyl is notorious for leaking at the rear of the valve cover. The 151 4cyl had a rocker arm cover on the side of the engine that liked to leak.
Take a good look at the engine & see if you can trace the oil path back to where it's leaking. You may have to clean the engine & watch it for awhile to find the oil path.

Turns out it is leaking at the rear of the valve cover. Thanks for the advice. I am certain I will be back with plenty of question. This should be a fun adventure...
