1988 YJ Rims/Tires

I just added a 2.5" lift kit to my 88 YJ and want to get new rims and tires. Should I go with 16" rims or the original size 15"? I don't really want to take any chances with rubbing but I do want the tallest and widest tires I can run without rubbing or screwing up the rear end, which is stock. I need all the help I can get in picking out the best rim size and offset.

i have 16" rims on my stock height 87. nothing rubs or anything but my tires are only about a 30 or 29" height.

on a YJ, as long as the rim diameter is over 15" to clear the caliper, you can run anything. the back spacing is what keeps the tires from rubbing.

I prefer 4.5" of back spacing, with 35" tires I got slight rubbing on the springs at full lock, but never really bothered me and kept the tires somewhat sucked in.
