1996 Cherokee Instrument Cluster Swap

I have a classic 96 Cherokee and want to swap the instrument cluster out from a 96 sport w/ tach, voltmeter, temp gauge and oil pressure gauge. Is it just a plug-in? Do any sensors need to be changed under hood?

It should just plug in but the gauges might not work properly if the new one has some extra gauges on the cluster like the Tachometer if the wiring is not in the harness. Also, the new cluster swap will have to be re-configured with the new vin number by a dealer. The sensors should be the same under the hood.

Welcome to the Z.

I know on older Jeeps you need to change the oil pressure sender when switching from idiot gauges to full gauges, not sure on a '96. Look up the oil pressure sender and see if there are 2 different options available.
