2 wheel drtail shaft housing

ok so i've gotanother question boys n girls. the donor 318 i found has a good working transmission...2 wheel drive loadflite ( tf 727 he thinks) will a 4 wheel drive tailshaft swap be possible? not having any fun finding engine to trans adapters 4 my 318 / aw4/ so maybe keeping his auto trans and adapting from there ? i have a tf 904 thats slipping and leaking from the shaft seals)
spring is comming and my 258 is really knocking so i'm trying to decide rebuilt or upgrade still...thanks for the help so far !!:???

The 727 loadflight was available with a 4WD tail housing BUT it was designed for pickups and, so, may be too long. An auto out of a 318 Grand (which I think would be a 9 series transmission) might be more compact (worth measuring up). Also, what transfer are you going to use? I have a 4WD 727 loadflight under my cellar stairs - let me know if you would like any measurements off it. Best of luck - John
