4x4 Posi problems

I put a 4x4 Posi-lock kit in my '94 YJ. The cable works fine when its not attached to the axle but when its installed the cable wont budge. I have a 3" lift so i bought the kit for lifted jeeps. It works once in a while but not in any consistent way. Any idea what could be wrong with it?

is the jeep moving when you try to engage it (so the splines can line up)? are the pawls lined up with the slip collar correctly? and is the cable lined up on the housing? i did the cheapo bicycle cable/spring set up - mine is permanently locked as the cable started binding up on me... just some ideas running thru my head not being there to look at it... g'luck and let us know...

It won't work unless the splines are lined up perfectly between the two shafts. The best thing to do is turn the steering wheel when engaging, giving the highest likelihood the splines will line up as the two shafts turn at a different rate.

y\are you sure the shift fork is not binding, or that there is no mis-alignent
