Just got a '99 TJ. Beautiful Jeep... Black soft top, 4 cyl., 5 spd, ~60,000 mi. I love it to death (went offroading for the first time today, amazing...), but I had a question about the dash- there's a knocking vibration from the center/left dash area up high if the engine RPM is dragged down below about 1750. Feels a bit loose/flexy, especially the molding around the gauges... Is this normal or is there a problem? Thanks![addsig]

I have a 00 TJ I would first check to see if everything is screwed in... Is it a stock radio thats in the Jeep now.... The dashes come apart so easily... The top trim where you defroster snaps into place you can pull that off and check to see if any screws are loose... that would be a start [addsig]

Looks like an aftermarket radio- could just be that somebody loosened things up and didn't properly tighten them back. I'll check and see. Thanks for the tip![addsig]

Fix the problem?

You replied to a two and a half year old thread? Even if it did fix the problem, I doubt they'd remember, even if they were still active on the boards!!

Hey better late than never. Atleast someone followed up with him.

Well, from past experiences with other message boards, it was nothing to jump-start an older thread especially if someone else had a similiar problem. Usually seemed to make more sense than to start up a new one that was about the same thing. Just kinda made sense to me, keep the problems contained in one main thread.
Anywho, point is, each place has it's own quirks and norms. So now on, I'll just PM people from older threads rather than revive them if it is offensive to others here. :)
