Does this sound like a good deal to you?

Remanufactured Dana 60 with lots of new parts, gears and locker and high steer, Heavy duty twin stick Dana 300, Heavy Duty TH350 mounted to dana 300, transmission cooler, torque converter, dipstick, and pan.....$4300.

Sound good to you? I live close to the company also so I can pick it all up.

That sounds pretty good to me. Especially since D60's alone are between $1500 and $2000 (and that is for used, old ones that don't even usuall have the gears you want...and no locker).

RE: Re: RE: leaf spring prob ?

It sounds about right as long as the transmission is built with good parts and the D300 is rebuilt.
When you say heavy duty, do you mean the D300 has the upgraded 32 spline output? If so, that sounds like a good deal.

Are you giving up on the 700R4? Can your np231 to 700R4 adapter be used with the D300 somehow? It's the same bolt pattern and spline count, the pattern is just rotated at a different angle. If your 700R4 is built right, you would like it so much more than the TH350. Lower first gear and overdrive, and if it's built right the strength is about the same as the TH350.

From all I have been hearing, the NP231 is going to be a turd compared to the Dana 300. The NP231 is made out of a bunch of beer cans. The Dana 300 is upgraded to 32 spline. ANd it has good parts in it (rebuilt).

I am giving up on the 231 also because I cannot find a driver side drop Dana 60. I am going to sell the parts back to AA. I know the TH350 is strong too. I don't need that overdrive.

I agree. The 231 is a decent case to a point, but a D300 is so much better it's no comparison--especially with the 32 spline outputs. I was suggesting you use a D300 with your 700R4.....that you already have. Will AA swap kits with you?
You won't be unhappy with a TH350, and your Jeep might even be slightly faster with it because of the closer gear ratios(if you care about that).

RE: Question to moderators

Well, if you can swing the $4300.....you're "there" my friend.

That thing is gonna be fun!!

can I swing that money? I damn well hope so. I sold that Waggy axle today so I am back up on jackstands in the front. I am looking at being done with it by the end of summer. I wanna take it to cruising the Coast.
