Engine Hisitation?

i have a 93 YJ with the 2.5 4 banger. i have a new fuel pump and had the engine rebuilt less than 50K ago. every now and then it will act as if it stops getting fuel or electricity for a split second...like a hiccop in the rpms. its done this during accelleration and during cruising speeds. Any thoughts on what may cause this?

Check your battery for a good connections.Check the grounds to the frame also.

As a cheap fix replace your battery cables to get full juice from battery and good ground.my 91 yj had starting problems after replacing battery and found out later the pos cable was corroded inside the sheath and wasn't get 12 volts to everything.good luck.......

This recently happened to my 4.2L!

After much searching & testing, I somehow got the idea to remove the vacuum hose from the EGR valve & plug it. Runs great now, & for $90.00 they can keep the replacement EGR, I just left it plugged.:shades:

have you checked the spark plug gapping? could be the gap is more than the coil can handle...
