Engine Swaps?

Who on here has done an engine swap to their Jeep...Like a GM or Ford smallblock V8?
I found a '92 YJ that's gotta fresh FORD 5.0 liter 302cui in it that I'm semi interested in. The YJ looks great, body is in great shape, about 4" of lift under it with 33" bogers on it, all the interior has been Line-X'd.
It's got the 5.0, 5 speed transmission, CV drive shaft, Ford transmission with JEEP transfer case, Hurst shifter, and the engine is upgraded with a few parts not sure what all exactly though.....I havent driven it any, but the owner did fire it up the other night and it sounded great and he said it runs & drives great...Worst thing I see is the stock front & rear end with that higher horsepower engine.
Whatever I buy will be a daily driver for me...So what do you guys think about an engine swap YJ for a daily driver???? I'm sure the gas mileage will suck with it but then again I've never seen a JEEP get good mileage no matter what engine it had.

You might be surprised with the fuel mileage, I get around 16 on the road with my 350.

If you buy it and the rears are a concern just start building a set of rears that can handle the extra power and slide them under when you're ready. Just stay out of the skinny pedal from a stop until your spare set is ready.

Cool....I leave for Colorado tomorrow, but when I get back I might go look at it again and take it for a drive. It's a great looking YJ, one of the best looking ones around here.

if all you gotta do is upgrade the axles seems like most of the hardcore mods are behind ya... if the price is right and it seems like the work was done right... go for it! and hit the trails!!!

Someone is suppose to look at my Chevy Z71 today, if they buy it I'm gonna go drive the YJ some..The more I think about it the more I want it, the guy that owns it lives up the road from my in-laws so I see it setting in the drive way all the time and that makes me want it even more..lol...They never drive it, he dropped the insurance on it so it just sets there now. I think he said the Ford 302 had like 4500 miles on it, he said he had over $10,000 in the JEEP and he priced it to me for $6500 the other night. It's nice, but I wanna drive it some before I really commit to buying it.
