First Mod Recomendation?

Between the payments for my 98 TJ and the insurance...and the undeserving IRS I don't have a lot of money to pour into the Jeep. (YET) However, I'd like to atleast do a little something. Any suggestions? (Relatively stock...31" BFG Mud Terrains...Akimoto Intake) [addsig]

the first mod that i went to that got me out of the "stock" group was a 1 in body lift and 32 in super swapers on nice shiny new rims[addsig]

Would love to do that. Well...the lift anyway and I'm heavily considering it. I'm happy with 31" tires considering the limited trail riding I get to do anyway. Besides tires would quickly and effectively sap my fundage...not to mention rims. Thinking also of either getting a new ignition system, or a CB. That latter just for the heck of it. [addsig]

Why would you do a new ignition on a '98?

Just curious,

K&N and a breathing exaust system type of your choice. Let your motor breath then mod any thing else that you wish to do so. Better milage and more power. tug[addsig]

do you have the 31's and the intake on now?

if not, those two are a good starting point. the exaust would be next.

a hurst short throw shifter is nice[addsig]

get some black rims, not really a mod, but it'll make your jeep look TIIIIIIGHT and they range from like 36-60 bucks a rim depending on where you look and the size you want

I had a '94 Escort LX...(Luxury, baby!)

A new ignition just looked fun...easy to install, adds a bit of power and also aids mileage.

I do have the 31s and intake now...Exhaust is a great next addition.

Thanks for all replies! [addsig]

Have to admit my complete ignorance on that matter...But, I'm going right now to research that! Thanks! [addsig]

Get some lights. A nice light bar with lights will make any jeep look good and they arent too expensive.

Jps4Jeep Thank you!!! I'm nearly 90% sure thats going to be my next project. I'm nearly salivating uncontrollably to see what my suspension could do with that (relatively) easy modification. JKS or TeraFlex seem to both be getting awesome reviews and as far as I can tell the differences are mild between the two, so I'll probably end up going for which ever one I can get at a lower price. Thanks agian for prompting my research! [addsig]

Sway bar disconnects are the cheapest and easiest way to inprove the offroad capabilities of your TJ.
FLEX THOSE COILS[addsig]

I just installed an intake earlier this week, and so far I like it. My jeep has more kick, and I'm getting better gas milage. The installation was easy and quick, 10 minuites at most. The only draw back is that I could only find one brand, Akimoto- for the 2.5 YJ's, but I assume you could replace the cone to k&n if desired. [addsig]

Maybe you can get a steering stabilizer. They're relatively cheap and easy to install. You will have better handle of your jeep, espically with larger tires.[addsig]
