Found an 8.8 out of a 96 explorer for $300 bucks is this a good price? and does it matter what type two or four door are they all the same size? any help on the subject would be great! :roll:

yes its a damn good price, especially if it has brakes on it. check to see the gear ratio, some had 4.10s and a LS carrier. theyre all the same 8.8, 31 splines and c-clips. minus the c clips this a is a great axle, lots of comp buggys run them with a c-clip eliminator. get it!

i got mine for 500 fully built from a guy with a yj who was parting his out for 500, before that a junkyard quoted me 500 for the one off an explorer, you have to go through some pains setting up the brakes but otherwise its not too bad
