Re: RE: Kazza Lite a pay site???

just put in my front aussie locker last night, the install was only aggravated by getting the hubs off to pull the axles and the stupid half axle in the yj's. other than that i just want some reassurance, when i pulled out of my driveway it seemed to be pulling my steering real hard, thats normal right? it was in 4wd so i would assume that it was just trying to differentiate and one tire couldnt slip or slow down so it was pulling like that for that reason. other than that it went well and ill have pics up soon

It will pull in 4wd. Not in 2wd. I am going to put mine in next weekend. Cant wait.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: so if i add..

It was pulling because your vacuum disconnect on the front axle was not engaging. When in 4wd, with a locker, all the torque to the front axle will go to the driver's side if the vacuum disconnect is not engaged. It shouldn't pull either way when in 4wd with the vacuum disconnect working properly.

Carburated ford 302 in a yj?

ok thanks for the info, imma switch it over to cable in the near future, i still like to be able to disengage it for turns so im not gonna put a tj shaft in it

I won't put the one piece shaft in mine either, I like the manual selectability.

If you need 4wd in a pinch on a YJ or XJ with vacuum disconnect and the front axle won't engage:
Remove the 4 bolts holding the vacuum disconnect to the front axle housing.
Remove the vacuum disconnect.
Slide the collar over the two axleshafts (may take somebody turning the steering wheel to get it to engage).
Reinstall the vacuum disconnect upside down, this will keep the shift collar engaged over the two axleshafts.
Reverse the procedure when you need to disconnect.

good to kno, thanks for the info bounty your full of it, no pun intended. im gonna get a cable from carquest, its got a nifty handle on the end of it and set up a cable discon. like i said and be done with it
