2 Questions: What is the stock gear ration in a 94 YJ 6 Cyl, 4.0, DANA 30 Ft and 35 rear? The problem I am having is I have a 4.5 lift and 33's. I can not gte over 55 MPH and that is floored! I am not looking to make it a highway cruiser, but need to get to a trail head in less than a week! HELP

There was definately more than one gear ratio used, so its kindof hard to know what yours is... you can pop the diff cover open and count teeth, but reguardless it sounds like you need to regear if you want to be able to hang on the highway, which unfortunately is going to mean $$$.

Good Luck,

I need to know what gear ratio I should go with. I was told 4:11 or 4:56. What is the advantage of one over the other? $$$ is not that big of a deal, I am spending $$$$$ on gas now and going no where.. I am dead in the water on windy days.

I would go with 4.56 or 4.88.either will work great with 33's and also if you decide later on you want 35's these will cover it.
Hope this helps.

whatever you do, DO NOT put 4.88's in there. go with the 4.56's at most, you would propably be just fine with 4.11's. i have seen a TJ with the 35 rear eat 4 sets of 4.88's up that had the 6 cyl. the problem is that when you go to a gear that low, the pinion for the D35 becomes very small, and weakens by alot, so don't go lower that 4.11's if you can help it.
