Glad I changed the gas in my boat

My boat has sat for three years now, but I'm finally getting around to using it. I went ahead and drained the tank, and the first 5 gallons of gas out looked like this. Water is heavier than gas, and separates out pretty quickly.

I bet the engine would not have liked trying to run that much water through it.

Wow! That is a lot of water. You leave the cap off that for the three years?

No, everything looked normal. My only guess is condensation.

They say you're supposed to either store the tank empty or full. I'm not sure if an empty tank would have collected all that water or not.

No lakes here - I'm ocean fishing! You're right though - I'd have to test out my flare gun.
