im kinda new at this though, does anyone have any tips?

My clubs have wing nights once a month and noobie runs where you can judge the character to see if you want them in your club. Also you can do fundraisers. Clean up trails events etc.

those are some good ideas... im thinking pool hall meetings once or twice a month till things get going, right now we dont have any members over 18 either lol actually i think all of us are 18

We only have a couple of clubs close to here. I thought about starting one but since I work most weekends it would be hard to plan events.
The Logo is awsome!

Have you considered creating Bylaws and Incorporating as a Not-for-Profit with the State? As you grow you will see the need for more structure.

uum... please explain lol its a no profit, but how do i go about incorporating it?

It varies state by state, I did our club's incorporation through the Secretary of State Office, they handle all business type transactions with the state.

Check to see if your state has a Four Wheel Drive Association, they often assist clubs in getting started.

Here's some quick info: Forming a Nonprofit Corporation in Florida | Citizen Media Law Project

Statutes & Constitution :View Statutes : Online Sunshine

Florida Non-Profit Corporations

As for bylaws, I researched the Bylaws of Jeep clubs and many other organizations found on the web and used parts of what I found as it suited our organization.

hmm... so the name is avalable, an i can appoint the three directors, but i can see its going to take more than that lol i have sone ling nights ahed of me... paper work paper work paper work, it will all be worth it though

That's cool starting a club, I like the name. Reminds me of the movie I liked so well. Good luck with it.

thanks :)

It's hard to keep a club going and people actively interested. We used to have a european car club here in corpus. When we started we ha only 4 cars and at the height of the club, we had 40. It only lasted about 3 years though because people moved, changed jobs, changed cars, or just got tired of doing stuff. Keep up the events though and that helps. At our clubs highest point, we met weekly, talked and ate, then went cruising and messing around. Car clubs are a blast and a great way to meet lifelong friends.

And we met on week nights because weekends people wanted to go do other things. We had twice a year meets with all the branches of the club and everyone drove to San Antonio for that one. It was a lot of fun

yeah once thing get going maintaining momentum is an important part, dont wan the people to get bored

Give them all something to do , as to their contributeing to the club as a team unit. Instead of only money, but knowledge of the mechanics of the way a jeep is put togeather , and everyone share it over one meal a month.

okay, im pushing some of them to join forums and learn about their jeep and how it works and ive been telling them how easy jeeps are to work on and that you shouldent take a jeep to a shop for minor things, so far its a bunch o close friends only a couple years old in the jeeping world and theres alot to learn
