I was installing my round LED taillights today...all was going well until I drilled my hole in the passenger side. I found a fuel filter and or pump. So bad news..it was kind of in my way..i managed to cut some of the box away that covered what i think is the fuel filter or somthing. I eneded up putting a small 1/4" hole in it...a small amount of black like rocks or somthing came out(charcoal?) Anyway, I put a bunch of silicon over the hole to plug it..not gas smell or anything leaked out aside from the black rock stuff. Jeep started no problem when i was done..i haven't really divin it..aside from left in running for a little..

thats the box..anyone let me know if this should be a bad way to fix it..or i should be okay..

Drive it until it starts having fuel problems. Then fix it. I would just fix it just so you know you wont have any problems down the road.

I'd have to say that it's just your fuel tank vent charcoal canister. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it shouldn't give you any problems.

When posting a pic from imagestation, try removing the orig.jpg from the end of the url so it ends only with .jpg

Put epoxy over the hole and jeep on :D

Buying a Jeep need help please

yeah..i drove it around today...seemed fine. But its just another thing for my to worry about when driving.
I stink at posting pictures. worked perfect during the preview.

yeah its just a charcoal canister for venting... no big deal... seal it up with whatever will set secure to it and don't worry....
