Jeep just got ripped off.

My 93 YJ just got ripped off the other night so I'm guessing they'll strip it and dump it. I've put so much time and money into it that I'd like to take a baseball bat to their head. If it's written off I'd like to buy another YJ because I want to stay with the leaf springs (much cheaper and easier to modify). My question is...is any of the fuel injected 4.0L YJ's better than the others? Is there any differences between the different years in the engines, the body, the interiors, options, ect? Thanks.[addsig]

that sucks man, if i see any punks drivin a jeep matchin your quotes descritption ill bring them too you for that bat treatment. yea go with the 91 and newer, my friend drove an older 4.0 and said it was sluggish, i dont think thats worth anything but the roll cages are different too as i recall.[addsig]

hey, i got one of them bats unde my rear seat. ill keep a look out for ur jeep (incase they take a spin out here) real sorry to hear. I love the 95 myself. The way i see it, the last year they made 'em that had it all figured out, so id run w/ that one. good luck[addsig]

88 - 90 was a 4.2 non high output. They were carburated. Different rollcages but prettymuch the same.

91 on up was a 4.0 high output. They were much more powerful and much more reliable. Untill I put on my weber carb. The 4.0's would spank me off the line every time.

Other than that I think that all of the newer ones were the same engine. The same with old cj I-6 engines and the ones in the 88 - 90 yj's.

P.S. in my experience, I think that 94's were one of the better production years.[addsig]

i know how you feel dude, my 87 yj was ripped of last january. They found it the next day and they had only smashed my steering column and stole my stereo. It worked out better in the end cause insurance gave me a nice settlement. Since then I converted my 2.5 throttle body to the 4.0L HO fuel injection and so far I think it kicks ass. Definitely recommend the fuelly. Once again sorry to hear about your misfortune but maybe you'll get lucky like I did. Make sure you tell all your friends that it's missing, my buddy was the one that happened to see it and called the cops.[addsig]

My condolences go out to you man! I once had a 93 that I truly loved, then I got

the urge to by a truck. Now I have another Jeep, but it is nothing like the YJ that I had.

Good luck in your pursuit to find it or another!

I don't know what else to say other than "sorry". I was just telling my husband the other day that I would probably *kill* someone if they were stupid enough to take the Jeep!! It's difficult when you spend time and money building the Jeep to make it your own...good luck to you! Patti[addsig]

That SUCKS! Who ever did this to you needs to be draged out into the streets and shot!

I would kill if i ever got my jeep riped off. What i do when i go out around town sometimes is take my big ass put bull with me. He is my jeep alarm. If you have a dog he should love your jeep just like you and he would kill anyone trying to steal it.

GOOD LUCK[addsig]

The rollbar style changed in '92 to better cover the rear passengers.

'95 YJ's have the larger 297x front axle u-joint, similar to TJ's and what comes in a D44 front axle. '94 and older have the smaller weaker 260x u-joint in the front axle.[addsig]

we draw and quarter jeeps thiefs around here. Well, at least I do!

Sorry to hear that man! Aint nothing much worse than haveing your stuff ripped off.[addsig]

I love the 91's! well i love all jeeps, but i think in 91 you get the best of both YJ worlds, You get the 4.0 injected and the good old slanted roll bars.
