Wanted: T-150 transmission for 77 CJ-5 (IN)

I got a 98 tj and its has started to stall and sometimes die (when I give it gas) when I shift into reverse ...It also tends to lose power when I hit a hard bump on the road.. It is an A/t with 95K...
The most recent work has been to replace the radiator, nothing else....
PLEASE, IDEAS? rocky

transmission and transfer case

long shot guess here... if you have a lot of miles on her... try getting the transmission flushed.. it might be raping power from the engine

16.5 rims in 6 lug??

Can I do the transmission myself? How much is a new filter?
It only dies in reverse, I am at a loss here.

Changing the filter and draining the pan will only get the fluid that is in the pan. The case and torque converter will still be full. I think you can get them flushed and serviced for about $80. Make sure you tell them you want it flushed. $80 is s alot cheaoer than a new transmission.

that is very true.... though, if you undo your coil wire and crank the engine with the pan off.. you will pump the fluid out of the converter... i've seen some do this by running the engine... but i'm not sure how safe it is to do, so i wouldn't do it at a high speed
