Jeepless Again

RE: jeeping husband 1.0

Boy someone out there really is looking out for me to be without the Jeep these days! lol

I just got it from the body shop two weeks ago and now I'm jeepless again. This morning it just quit on me. Runs but won't move.

Yea, sounds like the clutch which is not covered under warranty.

I had it towed (boy did that hurt to watch it limping down the road on the back of a truck) and am waiting on a repair quote.

The stealership told me 800 Yes 800 dollars!! I was like ummm, yea okay whatever.

We'll see how much it really costs. I don't trust them to be fair about costs on any service they do.

If it is even half that much, I'll be in clutch installation class next week so I can do it myself. lol

Oh well, just thought I'd share my lovely news.

Ouch, clutches are expensive but that sounds steep.

Sorry to hear it, but at least it should be a one day job!

Sorry to hear that, Lady (especially since I've got an '03 too  ). Guess you couldn't put it in gear?? - sure sign of a clutch. Best of luck - hope you're back wheelin' soon (and cheaply)!

RE: jeeping husband 1.0

Oh, that's got to hurt!! Someone sue doesn't want you to have your Jeep for very long periods of time!!

Well I hope you get it back soon and it ends up being WAAAYYYY cheaper than $800. Let us know what happens

RE: YJ-1; Chevy-0

Awww, poor girl!!! If I lived closer, you could come drive my Jeep to keep from going into withdrawal!!

Hope ya get it back soon!!

where to get a rebuilt 4.2 shortblock?

I feel for ya...my jeep's gone under the wrench more than a few times the past few months, and still needs work! If it needs a new clutch though, I would look into getting a centerforce.

RE: Cherokee speed sensor

if your replacing the clutch go aftermarket and more beefy. Let this be the lasttime you have to do that for a while. Sorry about your tough luck.

I know nothing about mechanics of clutches. It will be done by a family mechanic and aftermarket. What is centerforce, a clutch brand? Good Idea Judge. This is my first clutch vehicle and twice I've burned it up some wheeling. I guess I have some learning to do..................

RE: Re: This one was done RIGHT!

Yes centerforce is an aftermarket upgrade to the factory clutch. It should take a bit more abuse.

Ty Tc. I'll mention it to him. You ain't kidding Mingez! I had NO idea one little pedal (and what works it) could be so expensive. I don't have my quote yet but the hearsay is bad.
