Hey, question for anyone out there that may no an answer.
I have a 92 YJ, The Main Req'd light is on. I have tried to unhook the negetive...Nope didn't work. I have looked underneath the column for a geared box...Nope not on a 92. I have even brought it to a garage I am familiar with and they can clear it with their computer. I really don't want to take it to a chrystler dealership and pay out my as. ????
Thanks

Yeah I know its a hot topic...I left the cable off for 5 minutes or so. I read 10 seconds is all that should be required. So I left it off longer. I'm not sure if the duration would effect it so much.??? I don't know we could give it a shot!
Thanks T

Grabbed this off another forum:

Well check your o2 sensor and if that is ok just pull the plug on the timer box. The module is about 2"x1.5" and mine was kinda a smoky clear and could see it was a timer due to the gears inside. Good luck!!

Yeah I replaced the O2 sensors 14 months ago and I checked all over for that box but I don't have one they must be on the older version. I have a 92 fuel injected 4, and I think those mechanisms were last seen on the 90 behind the ashtray on on the firewall.
Thanks T,
Jeff

any scantool should reset the light....

have you gone to the dealer and just asked then to turn the light off? Sometimes if you grab a tech, offer him/her some cash they'd do it in a second.

I know where I work would...or if you're near LaPlace, I'd be happy to shut it off for you.

From what I read, they weren't controled by the computer, but were turned on by the odometer at 80,000 mile increments, to remind you to replace the O2 sensor. Could be wrong though

Thanks man, If I were around I'd stop by but i'm in Iowa. I'll try a dealership eventually, maybe they will turn it off without a charge.
Thanks
