New member, requests tech help

Hello there,
I live in Wyoming, just picked up a 1990 YJ, with a 4 banger and a 5 speed, I am curious if the transmission will bolt up to the older amc 304, 360, or 401. I buddy told me about your sight, and I have to say I am impresssed. Any tech help would sure be appreciated...

Will not bolt up. Your transmission is the Aisin Warner AX5.

If it did bolt up, which it won't, a V8 would probably shred it in a short period of time. The Ax5 is not the best transmission, but if run with the right oil they can be decent trannies for the 4 banger.
