We had a typical Kansas weather day yesterday. 93 miles NE of me, there were 16 confirmed tornadoes that touched down over open country. 125 miles NW of me we had a blizzard warning that closed down a stretch of I-70 from Wakeeny to the Colorado border. Both of these were happening at the same time. Here at home we had a mix of nice sunny weather, rain, hail, sleet, then snow. God I love it here!!:roll:

I was told once that the reason the wind blew so cold in Kansas is because there is nothing between there and the North Pole except a barbed wire fence...and it is down.

Strange weather here (St. Louis area) for late November, under a Tornado watch last night and this evening it's supposed to snow.

Get ready for those ice storms, supposed to be wetter than average around here

Sounds like Michigan weather there... Thanksgiving Day, it was cold and windy... And when I say that, I mean that we are under high wind advisories, everything was covered in 3 inches of snow and ice, and it was about 15 degrees outside; as soon as you went through water or mud at the Mounds, it instantly froze to the Jeeps...

Today, it is going to be 64 degrees (57 right now), and rainy... There is no more snow, it is calm, feels like a nice showery spring day...

The I-70 closures affected us here in Colorado as well. Just East of Denver, I-70 was closed to the Kansas border. It was windy in Englewood but dry. A bitter, cold wind. We were told it was closed to Russell, KS.

The I-70 closures affected us here in Colorado as well. Just East of Denver, I-70 was closed to the Kansas border. It was windy in Englewood but dry. A bitter, cold wind. We were told it was closed to Russell, KS.

They finally closed it all the way to Salina (70 miles due north of me) by noon today because of blowing snow. We had snow all day here, pushed by 30-35 mph winds, and I registered a 45 mph gust on my weather station. Not enough snow to stick to much, only made the bridges icy. We've been blowing out irrigation systems for the past month at work, and that's no fun at all with 10 degree windchills! It's kinda cool looking when the air starts coming out of the sprinkler heads, though, because it forms ice crystals on everything around it.....kinda like making my own fake snow!:lol:
