Preparing for the 'con: should I regear?

I am definately making some sort of multi-day offroad adventure this summer. Right now I'm deciding between the rubicon, some trails in mendocino nat. forest, and this one trail by bear valley (all in CA). I've done some pretty crazy trails in my cj, but not much rock crawling...how hard would it be to make it through the rubicon with 3.11's in my axles and 32" tires? Any mods I should do before I go? maybe a winch? I'm thinking of doing a transmission swap and axle swap somewhere down the line, but might not be able to do them in time.

3.11? that sort of gearing with 32" tires and a 258 CAN do it. You do have a good array of power mods so I really dont' see a problem with that, especially with 4lo. Just make sure you can flex, make sure you have recovery points, and make sure you have at least a come-along

Transmission to transfer case seal...?

With 3.11's you should be through the trail in a day, tops! No but really it will just be hard on your clutch when you really need to crawl rocks. As for clearance, 32's will get the job done since you have the shorter wheelbase. It is a hard trail and will find the weakest point of your rig and break it. So pack spares and be prepaired! I would recomend at least 33's, but can be done on 32's, just a little more finese. Before the winch, I would do the 1 piece inner axles for your amx 20 if you havent done that already. Pack spares and be prepaired for anything thats all I have to say.

RE: Is Black Diamond better than a Rancho lift for a CJ7

Bring some spare U joints too.

Do you have a Hi-Lift jack and all the necessary rigging tools (straps, shackles, tree saver, block)?

I think you will make it fine, even better if you were to pay my way too so i can go with. You 2 rig;s are better than 1

RE: Preparing for the

Plus remember what i said bout the bears...keep the food away from your tent, and rig
