Problems changing my ignition switch

I am changing out my ignition switch on my 76 CJ7 and am having problems getting the old one out. I have pulled the steering wheel, the lockplate, and removed the screws but the switch will not come out HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Insert the key and turn the key till it releases.. Make sure the battery cables are disconnected..

That is the problem the key broke off in the ignition (I love my kids but wanted to strangle them) and I can not get it to turn.

There is a lug on the tumbler assembly that needs to retract or compressed before the tumbler could be pulled out.. try using a small screwdriver to turn the tumbler while wiggling , this might work if most of the key is in the tumbler.
