proportioning valve

I had a front brake line wear through. I replaced it and bled the brakes. Now My brake warning light is on. I was told to recenter the proportioning valve. How do I do this?

Not sure what they mean by recenter the valve. Its been my knowlege that if the light is still on you still have some air in your lines. On the proportioning valve there is a rubber cap on the end of the valve that covers a small pin, That pin should be pushed in, if its out you wont get fluid to the front (I think its the front) brakes. That may be what they are reffering to.

"Easy Bake" my black panel van 5801885688_3865776141_m.jpghad the same issue when some scheissekerl cut me off in traffic. Despite my experience I stomped on the brakes in surprise and I got the idiot light "Brake" on thereafter. The fix was to bring the van up to speed and re stomp on the brakes, this re centered the proportioning valve, on my van at least.
