I had to kill an hour last night and swung by a local Jeep dealership. I looked over the varying models and found out a couple of interesting things:
1. I didn't know the Rubicon doesn't have a slip-yoke. It has a fixed output from the transfer case - very cool. by the way, an Unlimited that had a D44 (not a Rubicon) still had the slip yoke so it is a Rubicon feature and not a D44 feature.
2. The new SE (base) model with 4 cyl's come in a 6 speed manual and have 3.78 gears now instead of 4.11's. The new SE model with an automatic have a 4.0L also with 3.78 gears.
Good news on the Rubi's Tcase output, maybe it will be standard in '07 when they redesign again.
Cool the base model can have a 6 cyl, but bummer you can't get it with a manual trans :?
