Searching for a heavy duty steering box mount for my YJ

Hey now,

I'm a relative newcomer to the Jeeping world, having recently moved from driving Landrovers in New Zealand to resettling in Massachusetts and acquiring a 1990 YJ Wrangler.

All is well, I love my Jeep, but after feeling trouble in the steering and noticing quite a bit of p/s fluid leakage I ordered a new pump, hoses, Borgeson shaft and an AGR p/s box.

I started taking my baby apart only to find some rot around the p/s box mount. I don't want to put all of these heavy duty, not to mention expensive, parts on my Jeep without adressing the cracks in the frame, so I need to find a steering box mount made from steel rather than cast so that I can fill the cracks up and weld that bastard right to my frame.

I've foung heavy duty box mounts for CJ's, but none for YJ's. Can anybody help me? My poor Jeep's been laid-up for two weeks now, the weather's getting warmer and I've got to get out there!!

Thanks, take it easy.

Never seen anything for the YJ, haven't really seen any weakness issues with the stock mount. I'd suggest repairing the frame and using the stock mount, without welding the mount to the frame. Then use a steering brace that are commonly available for the YJ.
