Should I Sell?

Folks, I need your help one more time. Many of you have probably seen my post about whether I should sell my 2000 TJ. I am still on the fence, but If I could trade it in on something and come clean, I may be willing. I have looked at NADA and Kelly but I have noticed that many that are for sale are priced higher. I really want your honest opinion on what I should try and get from a dealer. Thanks and below are the specs. Thanks, KJ

2000 Wrangler TJ 4 cyl.
23,230 Miles
3 inch BDS lift
Custom front and Rear Bumper,
Nerf Bars
33 inch MT's

In Maryland, dealers won't give much for lifted vehicles becvause of legal/inspection issues.

In PA, the same goes for heavily modded ones, but mild lifts can actually bring a little extra $$$.

My point is you might get more selling it through the local paper, or via a for sale sign in the window.

Self selling is much higher than trade in values. You would be better trying to sell it a few weeks before you are ready to get your new car so that if you don't hav eluck yoou could always bite the bullett on trade in. BE careful on any high trade in values offered. If it sounds too good to be true it usually is. The dealer will add the extra money he paid for your trade in to some "additional processing charges etc etc". Good luck.

Well, I gone and done it now. I bought a 2002 Ford Sport Trac today and traded my Wrangler, I think I did pretty well. The Sport Trac has 67000 miles on it and I paid 1,000 and they gave me 10,000 for my Wrangler. They were asking 14,000 and I left the dealership twice and then went to another store that is affiliated with them and they went to the other dealership and brought it over and lowered the price. I almost backed out about four times and I actually was sick at my stomach a few times but I hope she will go to a good home. The 4 cylinder was just killing me going down the road, and at least I still have my XJ. Thanks for the info. Take Care, KJ
