alright im pricing up my soa and getting ready to order stuff. i want to kno from people who have done these things as cheap alternates
1. zj pitman arms
2. xj brake lines
3. STEEL (not ss) brake line kits

any other ways out of spending lots of cash please let me kno cuz i am on somewhat of a budget and want to kno which mods listed above really work or are just rumored

i found the post here that says zj arms will work, any clue what years? i have a 94 yj and i kno the guy who did it had a 93, but on the zj what years?

I love a good low budget SOA, we should have a competition to see who can do it cheapest. Oh wait, that wouldnt be a tough decision, Snitty the metal whore would beat us all by hundreds....

and no.. i dont think there is any need to remove anything from the zj pitman arm... can't say for sure yet, don't have it installed... but from everything i've read, its all the same, just different drops

great, ive got a friend who works at advance auto parts, ill get him to pick it up for me, thanks for your help

nope... i don't think advance sells them... they sell pitman arms... but they are a nonwear pitman... they only sell arms with breakable joints in them.... though, they may be able to get one from an outside vendor... i know Moog has the arms... but MAKE SURE it is a ZJ arm... the one they got me was an XJ arm... i ended up getting the right one at the junkyard

i dont understand, he said they could order, what is the breakable joint thing, and did i assume you just went to a junkyard and asked them to pull it off a zj? whats the difference with the one tha advance would sell me then

well.. the autozone AND advance in my local area cannot even get nonwear chassis parts... some pitman arms are made with a ball type joint in them which can wear out, so they must be replaced now and then... but a jeep pitman is not expected to go bad... your local store MAY be able to get them.. but i work for the local autozone here... and we have no vendors.. but we CAN buy them through a nearby Moog dealer. I just went to the local ripoff junkyard 10 minutes before they closed... parked behind all their vehicles.. and refused to leave until i got my part

4. Shocks
5. Taller shock mounts
6. Traction bar
7. Welder
8. Track bar
9. Drag link
10. Spring perches
11. Bigger Tires
12. new gears for bigger tires
13. Driveshafts
14. Slip yoke eliminator
Did I forget anything? Might as well take that budget, ball it up and throw it away. If you do it right, it will not be cheap, but well worth it.
Do plenty of research before you get started (setting caster and pinion angles). I would also consider doing a shackle reversal while you are at it.
