spring spacer

can't give any information about advantages/disadvantages but I did just a 2" coil spacer lift install this past sunday. I did the Skyjacker 2" coil spacer lift with hydro shocks.

Installation was straight forward, however hanging the rear shocks was a bit tricky getting next to the gas tank. For the front shocks, I suggest getting the shock nut tool which holds the stem tight so you can back the nut off.

Now if my wheels and tires would just get here!

I think that spring spacers are the way to go if you are looking for a minor lift without sacrificing ride quality or center of gravity issues. The Fabtech kit looks good, or if you want to piece everything together look at the Adjustable Coil Over Spacer (ACOSâ„¢) from JKS Manufacturing at
http://www.jksmfg.com/acos.htm. Quadratec carries these in their catalog as well.

What I like about this idea is that they are adjustable so if you add gear (bumpers, winches, racks, etc.) to the front or rear of your jeep you can compensate for any resulting sag and level everything back out.

Don't waste your money on the ACOS. Go ahead and install the 2" coil spacer kit, it's a great deal for enough lift to clear 32" tires and performs really well.

Then, if you need to level out the jeep, buy some extra .75" thick front coil isolators from the dealership. They are dirt cheap and are stackable with the 2" coil spacers to level things out in the front or rear.

Check out www.rubiconexpress.com and www.rustysoffroad.com for spacer kits also. Two great kits with smooth riding hydraulic shocks.

The lift is easy as anything I can have mine off and back on in about 2 hours.

Disconnect the Swaybar at the bottom
Remove the Shock
Jack up the side you are working on high enough to get the spring off (PLEASE chock all tires that are still on the ground)
Place the spacer over the bumpstop
put your coil back on (you may have to jack it up higher for this part) I used my Hi-Lift.
drop it back down
repeat on other side
Attach new shocks
Attach Swaybar

You are done

Easy fix for the rear Shocks Use your LONG socket extention and be paitient.

cheap lift with no sacrifice in ride quality. you should be able to install it in your driveway in @ 3 hours with beer breaks. :D i added a 1 inch body lift too for a little extra room in the wheel wells.

it WILL have an effect on the center of gravity because you are bringing the frame up off the ground... but at 2"... not to worry
