Hey guys,
Transmission is acting up again.... Or it could be the clutch...
I hear an inconsistant dry squeeking when I have the clutch in while it's in gear. I hear it mostly when I'm at a stop in first, ready to take off. Tonight it was difficult to get into gear also. It was hard to shift this past summer but I put some Redline MT-90 in and it was smooth as silk until now.
Does anyone know what it could be?

Changing a clutch is one thing I have never done. And if it is the clutch, anybody know of an upgrade? :D

Thanks,
Joop

it could be the TOB... or it could be material between the plates, or you could be down to the rivets in the disc.. and when you press the clutch, it can be debris causing the squeek... either way, you're gonna have to get in there and replace something... so replace it all... you don't really need an upgrade.. check ebay... you can get clutches for like 125 or so last i looked... or an autozone clutch works just fine.. not enough torque to worry about upgrading... i plowed 3 years with my stock clutch (1993) and its still holding great

I don't know why I didn't put 2 and 2 together... my brothers toyota just had the same problem, the throwout bearing that is. I guess it's different when it happens to your own vehicle. My brother had a new clutch put in at the same time as well... Looks like I will do the same. Thanks for the info.

Sounds like a good plan. I did the same thing when my TOB went.
