Hello all . Im fairly new to the jeep seen i have had a couple over the years but never really did anything but drive them . Now i just bought a 1999 sahara really nice i am going to st this up for girlfriend . And to tow behind motor home . Start going to some jeep deals . But any how my steering box leaking fairly bad , 50 cent piece size every time . I stop dont sound bad but i dont like it . What years will yj and tj interchange ? Can any one help . And by the way my screen name will get changed soon. Im out of the boat business going to jeep . Thanks for all your time .8)

if u can find a 97-02 it will work
in 03 they changed the steering boxes
in 03 they changed the steering boxes

A steering box from a '99 4wd Durango is a bolt-in upgrade.
I just had the steering box on my 97 replaced yesterday. I just went with a brand new assembly. The old one didn't fail until it had around 190k on it so a brand new one "should" last just as long. I would say to just get a new one and have it installed at a good shop that is not a dealership. Don't forget the alignment after the install.
